The short version
This site does not use cookies. Not ours, not anybody else's. There is no analytics, no advertising, no pixel and no tracking of any kind.
The only thing it keeps in your browser is the language you pick, so it does not have to ask again on your next visit.
What is stored in your browser
Two values, both held in local storage rather than in cookies. Local storage is never sent to our server: it stays on your device and only this site can read it.

Neither identifies you. Neither is shared with anyone.
Why we do not ask for your consent
European rules require prior consent before storing information on your device — but they exempt anything strictly necessary to provide a service you have expressly requested. Remembering the language you just clicked is exactly that case, so no consent is required for it.
The notice you can open from the button in the corner of every page is there to tell you this, not to ask permission. There is nothing to accept or refuse, and nothing is blocked while you decide.
If we ever add analytics or anything similar, that changes: we would have to ask you first and block those scripts until you agreed. This page would be updated to say so.
How to remove what is stored
Clearing your browsing data for this site removes both values, in any browser, without affecting anything else. The site will simply ask your language preference again by falling back to the language your browser reports.
Changes to this policy
If what this site stores ever changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live, not afterwards.
